THE ‘CHICKEN BUTT DELIGHT’ TOUR
DAY 1 – Training Day
Today’s menu: Clinics in the nearby bike park for breakfast, a short trail for lunch, afternoon rides on single trails around Bovec, enjoying the new bike park in Čezsoča for dinner and a craft tap beer at Yurty bar for desert. Sounds good?

DAY 2 – Mt. Stol, the Sick Flowy Trail
Our van is shuttling us up to ex Slovenia-Italy border from where we start our climbing up on a dirt road with a perfect gradient. Coming to the mountain pass we are indulged with amazing views over Julian Alps. Another half an hour climb with fantastic views over Nadiža valley take us to the start of sick mtb trail with flowy sections down to the Soča Valley.
Afternoon shuttle takes us to another beautiful and playful trail descending towards another valley with different views.

DAY 3 – Mt. Matajur, the Epic Trail to Italy
A van shuttle takes us to the beautiful village of Avsa where the uptrail to Matajur hut at 1545m starts. The epic descent of 1,400 vertical meters and 12 km of diverse single-track terrain ends up in San Pietro di Natisone where we stop in the local gelateria for a homemade ice cream.
Afternoon short but sweet rides take place on nearby hills supported with a shuttle.

From Bovec we start the climb on gravel road towards Kanin area where we are indulged by the amazing views over Bovec Valley. The single trails, a bit rocky at some points, with some switch backs, steep sections and some hand made objects for a pure pleasure and technic skills.

THE ‘ISONZO FRONT WW1’ TOUR
6 Days, 12 Battles
DAY 1 – Above Bovec
Morning alpine single trail starts with a climb on gravel road towards Kanin area where we are indulged by the amazing views over Bovec valley. Trail runs on muleteer built as military supply route for the battlefields of the Soča Front during the First World War. Terrain varies, from soil and roots to a bit rocky, with some switch backs, steep sections and some hand made objects for a pure pleasure and technic skills. After short brake we are attacking the same mountain but enjoying different trail passing the monument to fallen partisans in 1st. WW. Dinner in local restaurant.

Afternoon plan is shuttle up to Kolovrat ridge to visit open war museum and Italian positions from 1st WW. The alpine trail on Slovenian side takes us down to Soča valley.

DAY 4 – Above the Soča river
After a 50km shuttle, we park and you play on local trails…The first trail, 700 vertical meters, offers a nice enduro trail with some berms and rocks, but nothing difficult. The next two trails have 550 vertical metres of descent and offer a wide range of different terrains, running mostly soil, roots, some rocks, berms, jumps and steeper sections. It’s a must to have gelato at the local gellateria. Visiting The Isonzo Front museum collection from 1914 – 1917 afterwards.

DAY 5 – The rocky heights
A cable car takes us to Kanin ski area. We push our bikes for 20 minutes to the saddle, which gives us breathtaking views toward Italy, Austria, Julian Alps, and even the Gulf of Trieste. Following the decent on a ski slope and another short push, we start on a beautiful “mulattiera” trail on 2140m. The rocky and challenging trail bring us down to Sella Nevea. Continuing on trails along the main road, we stop at the lake for a swim and crossing the 1156m pass is delighted with a playful secret single trail on Slovenian side. On the way we are passing Fort Herman and Fort Kluže which were used as a defense on the Austrio-Hungarian front, during the 1st. WW, from an Italian invasion. Enough! Time for a beer.

DAY 6 – The Queen
Going 70km South, we come across the most sick trail in Soča valley with amazing views over Julian Alps and, on the other side, towards the seaside. This fantastic trail, named “The Queen,” is full of berms, jumps, gaps, roller coasters, and drops, and it’s worth doing it multiple times, but we cannot miss the new flowy trail with many handmade objects.
Afternoon rides continue on beautiful trail area on Italian side where we are also visiting the ossuary in Oslavje, build as a tomb in which the remains of soldiers who fell during the WW1 in the battles around Gorica and Tolmin are buried. Beer and pizza time in local restaurant.

GENERAL BIKE, GEAR AND RENTAL INFORMATION
You will be riding your own bike, so don’t forget to bring it… and your helmet too.
If you don’t feel like hauling your own bike around, renting is an alternative option. However, as rental bike fleets change often, we are unable to promise a particular brand, model or wheel size. Make sure you’ll contact us in advance to book your bike hire.
Bike rent rates are from €30/day for a hardtail bike and €45/day for a full suspension bike.
A well maintained, well functioning mountain bike with front suspension is mandatory but full suspension bike is better.
